Support For Your Family
Who We Are
We are a family support charity working across Suffolk. We aim to bring community back to the heart of parenting by recruiting and training local volunteers who have parenting experiences themselves to support the families who come to our service via home visiting support. We work together with families to build their knowledge of child development, encourage connections to supportive networks and help towards achieving their individual goals.
Who can we support?
We support families living in Suffolk with at least one child aged 11 or under.
Our support is a free, confidential and non-judgemental.
Here are some examples of why families have asked for support:
- You are feeling lonely or isolated in your community,
maybe you have no family of friends close by
and need support getting out into the community.
- You are dealing with illness of your own or your child
- You are struggling with a recent bereavement
- You have a new born and are struggling emotionally or mentally with the demands of parenthood
- You would like practical support like budgeting or support to access other services
- You would like to access groups and meet other local parents
- You would like to learn more about your babies development and join projects to support it
We support families from a huge range of backgrounds and needs and the support we provide is as individual as the families.
Families can choose to come to us whenever they feel they are ready.
Support Available
We provide a number of services that families can choose from, either at home or in a group setting depending on what suits you best, your needs and your preferences.
Home-Visiting Support
Our home-visiting service is at the heart of what we do. We believe in supporting parents when they need us most. We work with families in their own home and tailor the support we provide on the needs of the family. Families receive a weekly or fortnightly visit and there is standard timeframe for how long we work with a family.
To find out more about who we can support, how our home-visiting service works please read our Home Visiting Support leaflet.
Group Support
Our Family groups are open to parents with children under the age of five. Groups are free to attend and provide a safe and supportive space for parents and children to meet others, join in with fun activities and get out into the community. Some of our groups have a focus such as SEND or perinatal.
